I did the upgrade in response to an email sent out on 12/27/20 by NETGEAR Security <security@e.netgear.com> titled "Important Security Firmware Update from NETGEAR" recommending to upgrade the firmware of the RBR20 The email said "We've Enhanced Your Product's Security. Please Update to the Latest Firmware.". Usually it is very advisable to follow such recommendations, if they come directly from the vendor.
I did not do a factory reset after the upgrade. Usually that is not requird unless explicitly stated in the upgrade instructions.

Thanks. You're right it is advisable as you say. Now if it would work as advertised life would be great
lots of folks here love factory resets after updates
