You can turn OFF the wifi radios on the R7000 router and connect up and configure the Orbi for AP mode.

Looking for some advise on setting up a network for smart home devices, previously I was using my night hawk but I was experiencing huge issues gaming and streaming on my network. In total I have about 50 devices that I would like to connect included would be 2 gaming computers that I attempted giving priority with QOS settings previously but experienced quite allot of lag while gaming, also general internet connectivity was problematic. I have recently purchased the orbi as this was capable of 250 devices by itself and with superior wifi coverage, but I was wondering before I start setting everything up again is their a way to utilise the R7000P Night Hawk.
My current setup is ONT>Nighthawk
Ethernet from nighthawk : Switch, Orbi
Note: switch has one server attached which requires 5mbit upload for streaming purposes
I'm using the Xiaomi home range of smart devices
detailed layout attached
Look forward to any advise provided
