SIM not getting connected to internet

Hi,

I bought the Orbi LBR20  in USA and but now trying to use it in India with Airtel 4G SIM. I tried to set up the APN as per the carrier instructions:

APN: airtelgprs.com

username:

password:

Authentication Type: chap

PDP value:  Iv4 or Iv6

 

During the setup, the SIM status is shown ok but connection to internet fails.

1. The same SIM works well with same APN settings in a dongle at same location (so signal is not an issue)

2. The connection status shows as disconnected. Also it shows band as US or Canada. Does this mean it supports only USA or Canada SIM cards ?

    No, it means the US-FCC models only support US-FCC bands for WWAN and for WiFi. It's a hard restriction - no user override - required by the US reguatory authorities.

      I am using local Indian SIM (Airtel 4G), but it doesn't get connected to internet. SIM check goes fine. If I look at  the connection status, it says SIM ready, but LTE module is USA/Canada. The Netgear site says that it supports only US/Canada bands or EU bands.

      I suspect I am out of luck for using in India.
