Some devices not connecting to Orbi RBR50 after new cable modem install
I recently changed my cable modem and afterwards my Orbi RBR50 network is not behaving as expected. Most devices got back onto the network with no problem, but some, notably my Synology NAS, hav...

Ohh actually it’s the same modem, from the cable company, but previously it had its internal wi-fi router turned ON, and when I had it reset I asked the cable company to turn the router OFF entirely. I thought that the modem had been doing NAT alongside the Orbi router, so I thought it would be best to disable that.
So in theory this should be easier for the NAS to connect to the internet, no?

Maybe it would be a good idea to double check that the cable tech did what was asked.
i.e. Compare the IP address that the Orbi router reports on its WAN interface against the public IP address from one of those "What's my IP?" web sites:
- On the Orbi web interface http://orbilogiin.net ) the Advanced Tab home screen will show the IP address assigned to the Orbi WAN port:
- Open a web browser to (https://whatismyipaddress.com ) The IPv4 address should match the Internet Port address exactly.

Thanks for the follow-up. Yes, I just checked and the Orbi IP and the IP shown at whatismyipaddress.com are both the same. Any other ideas? Very grateful for your thoughts!

Can you check what appears in the Advanced Tab, Advanced Settings, UPnP menu:
My Orbi has UPnP disabled. Nothing on my LAN can forward any ports. When I want a port forwarded, I have to use the Port Forwarding menu and set up the port forwarding myself. (If I had a NAS, things would probably be different, but Christmas has passed and Santa did not leave one under the tree.)

Looks like a number of ports are being forwarded to my NAS, which has a reserved IP address of 10.0.0.75. See attached.
Incidentally, before the modem was changed, I had the NAS at 10.0.0.46. After the change, when it did not work, I noticed that the NAS was getting an IP of 198.x.x.x or something. So I tried changing the reservation. At one point I believe I had it at 10.0.0.47 and I was able to access the NAS’s login page at that IP. But then I went to edit the port forwarding and after that I can’t get anything to work anymore.
