Speed issue with CBR40

Hi recently I upgraded my speed from 100mbps to 1Gbps through Xfinity. though the speech just increased 100 Mbps extra. reach out to Comcast but no luck. one of xfininty tech told modem is not compatible with the speed because you have Docsis 3 instead of Docsis 3.1.

Do I need to replace the modem or is any other thing I can do.

For xfinity, they require a Docsis 3.1 device to hit gigabit speeds.

And the problem is, the CBR40 doesn't run in just router mode.

You'd need a different modem and router for gigabit.

At one time in 2018 I had my CBR connected and got near 900mpbs. And it worked. The CBR supports 32x8 channels. However ISP have requirements that for most 1G services, DOCSIS 3.1 is needed. I would check with your ISP to see what they require then buy accordingly. If you want Orib mesh and 1G services, check on a CM1000 or 1100 series modems then get a Orbi RBK40 or RBK50 kit system connected to the CM modem.
