Speed test limited to 500 Mbps?
I have a DOCSIS3.1-Connection and have one RBR50 and two satellites connected to a FritzBox 6591. While doing a manual speed test e.g. via speedtest.computerbild.de i often get speeds of above 950 Mb...
What a lot of users do not consider is that Network WiFi speeds are inherantly slower than Network Cabled speeds.
On a 1 Gig internet input speed into a modem, (That comes in on cable, BTW), a wired output of that Modem should be right at the input speed. But once that wired signal goes into the WiFi router and gets propogated at 2.4G or at 5G it's speed is typically 1/2 the input speed for the conversion to WiFi.
Sorry, i forgot to say: All Satellites are connected via Ethernet to the router. And on the satellite i also get plus 900 Mbps while using non-NETGEAR-speed-tests.
- What he was trying to say was the device used for the test matters. An iPhone best case gets an 866Mbps link speed but in practice will see a lesser effective rate. If doing the test using a wired connected client, should get full speed.
Is the Orbi configured as router or access point?
Also I believe if using wireless backhaul, wireless connected clients should be able to get full speed on satellite based on my understanding of the design used in this product.
