Speed testing Orbi90
When I run the speed test from the Orbi app it shows about the same high speed as my cable provider advertises. But if I run a speed test from the laptop when it's just connected to the Orbi network ...

If you are doing the ORBI built-in test via a hard wired computer (ethernet), your speeds will be faster than WiFI–that's just the physics of wireless versus wired connections. The difference in speeds will also be dependent on multiple factors, e.g., distance from router, interference from competing devices, walls or metal objects near the laptop, etc.. The second part of this equation is the actual software that does the speed test. Not all are created equal! Some apps will inflate or deflate speeds based on their propietary algorithms and whose network they use to do the testing. My advice (Spolier: I'm not an expert!) is to ignore most speed tests. Unless there are obvious huge differences, e.g, 200 mBps wired drops to 10 mBps WiFi, don't worry. If your WiFi devices hold onto the ORBI signal and respond reasonably to inputs you're probably fine.
