Hi Forum: 2 days ago there was a firmware update on my RBR40 router--not the satellites. After rebooting, all my connected devices came back EXCEPT my 2 TCL TV's which run on the Roku platform. No...

Looks like your modem already has a built in router and wifi.
What mode is your modem working in? Modem only or Router mode? If router mode, this would also cause problems...

It does, but the wifi coverage is horrible. I live in a larger house now and the wifi signal coming from the modem is too weak. There is also a TON of traffic in my neighborhood. I had purchased a google mesh originally and that wasn't powerful enough (satellites kept dropping signals, only the router attached to the cable modem worked) so I purchased the ORBI and have not had any major problems since--except for the firmware update which I discovered was needed after the orbi network went done overnight. I assumed the router would check automatically for firmware updates and apply them--but I guess it doesn't--and the app didn't say I needed one so checked manually.

Well the main issue would be the router thats in the modem and having the Orbi router running as well. This causes a double NAT issue which can cause problems with connected devices or devices that needs access to there services.
An option is to bridge the modem fully. Turning OFF the wifi radios on the modem doesn't help here. The modem has to be bridged fully. Something to ask your ISP about.
Or if the modem can't be bridged, you can try to use the modems DMZ or IP pass thru for the Orbi router in router mode.
Or configure the Orbi router for AP mode.
