Tesla Wall Connector unable to connect

Question

Hi,i have a Netgear Orbi Setup (RBR20 Main, and 2 RBS20 Satellites).When i started to add some IoT devices recently i had major issues with connecting them to the network. All the vendors of IoT devices i asked, said they know about those issues with mesh networking equipment.After some playing around with the options it usually worked.Usually disabling SSID broadcast for 5Ghz and sometimes even lowering the 5GHz signal power did the trick to make the initial connection, and i could revert the signal power just fine.&nbsp;However with my recent addition of the Tesla Wall Connector Gen3 this did not work. After a few days and hours of trying i gave up. Took out an old TP-Link router and plugged it into the LAN port of the closest Orbi and configured it as access point with a new WIFI. This worked on the first try and with no issues since.Is there any way to get the Orbi to play nicer with the IoT devices on the 2,4 GHz channel, or can i assume it's just not compatible and Netgear does not intend to do anything about it - as it does not seem to be limited to my 3 year old gear, but also newer devices? In a time with more and more IoT this seems like a very strange company policy.

Please try the following steps to resolve your issue:

Go to orbilogin.com in a web browser to access the Orbi admin site, Advanced tab, and Advanced / Wireless Settings. Set CTS/RTS Threshold to 2347 for both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands.Then add the Tesla Wall Connector Gen3 to your RBR20 network manually.&nbsp;

Hi Kevin,thank you for your Response, the&nbsp;CTS/RTS Threshold is already set to this value, as you can see in the attached screenshot.I'm not sure if i set it to this in the past, when previously dealing with other devices, or if it was already like this.Manually adding the wallbox did not make any difference, i tried it several times (including with the current options from the screenshot)."Disabling" the 5GHz&nbsp;network (turning down power to 25%) seemed to do the trick to get it connected. But once i turned it up again the Wall Connector failed to reconnect after it was offline.Cheers

How does a Tesla charger unit go "offline"?&nbsp; All of my Internet of Things (IoT) devices stay on the network as long as they have power.
The typical IoT problem is how to get the device connected. Once connected and working, devices retain the network login.

CrimpOn&nbsp;In that case it was probably the restarting Orbi after changing some settings 😉But either way, the device should be able to reconnect when knowing the valid credentials and the network is available. Which it seems is not the case, when the 5GHz signal is also there.I've had similar issues with some WIFI switches ("Shelly"), but those seem to the resolved after the initial connection works.Also a "MyStrom" switch had the same issue - and the support clearly statet they know about issues with several Mesh WIFI systems.A plain old WIFI Extender works flawlessly now, but i don't really see the point of having this additional access point right next to a Orbi extender.

Retired_Member&nbsp;how did you set this up in your orbi? setting up a guest network, maybe? i tried this, but there is no way to disable the 5ghz for the guest network only, as far as i can see.
