Traffic Meter does not fix DNS issue
Even after downgrading the firmware from 2.7.2.104 back to 2.6.1.40 with trafic meter disabled, I still experience disruptions of service. The router continues to lose its DNS settings. I have also played with the NTP settings as well to no avail. When is NetGear going to permantely fix this issue? I am at wits end.

The issue that Netgear engineers identified regarding Traffic Meter and automatic adjustment for Daylight Saving Time has been confirmed. Turning off Traffic Meter or the automatic Daylight Saving Time adjustment made the problem disappear. (It did for me.)
Rather than assume, "This is the same thing others were reporting last March", my suspicion is that this is a different issue which should be investigated. I gather from the post that there are frequent "disruptions of service". What is the evidence that the Orbi is "losing DNS settings"? In the previous situation, there was a simple test:
- Attempt to ping web resources by their URL, such as:
ping dns.google.com, or
ping one.one.one.one
If these tests FAIL, then - Attempt to ping these resources by IP address:
ping 8.8.8.8
ping 1.1.1.1
When this Orbi experiences a "disruption", what do these tests reveal?

The evidence is two fold:
1.) When I have this issue I can plug directly into the back of my cable modem and connect to the internet just fine.
2.) When conecting to the router via Admin the public ip address is displyed, however the entry's for DNS are blank leading me to beleive this is the same DNS query issue.
3.) With traffice meter off and daylight savings checked the issue persists. I now have both trffic meter disabled, (which it has always been) and daylight savings unchecked hoping this brings back some semblace of stablity.
Is there a patch, fix to this issue aside from disabling things?
Thanks

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What browser are you using?
Had a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?
You might try enabling IPv6 DNS 6to4 and configure a IPv6 DNS to see if this helps for what your seeing.
I re-enabled TM (no limit) and DST and have not seen this problem. I did not have TM enabled before as well thus I had not seen any kind of problems related to DNS issue throughout FW versions.
