Trying to connect chromecast to RBK50

This is only a suggestion. I have had a couple of bewildering episodes where my Orbi turns on Access Control and sets itself to Deny new devices. I connect a device. It gets an IP address. It shows up on Attached Devices. But, it cannot communicate with anything. Not the internet. Not local devices. I have to go into the Orbi web interface, turn off Access Control. "Allow" that MAC address. Pain in the a**.
Since my WiFi password is absurdly complex, I chose not to activate Access Control, so I never think to look there and am really surprised to find it activated. My suspicion is that this is somehow connected to using the Orbi "app" on occasion.
This may have nothing to do with your situation, and my suspicion may be entirely unfounded. It can't hurt to look at Access Control.
