Trying to connect Tesla PowerWall
Powerwall won’t connect because it needs a 2.4ghz network. Any thoughts for a workaround?

The PowerWall instructions are clear that the product requires a 2.4G WiFi network.

All Netgear WiFi systems provide a 2.4G WiFi channel.
At what step does the connection process fail?

I get through the whole process to the last step, when the Powerwall tries to connect to my WiFi network. It simply won’t connect.

Wow. Step 6 and Step 7 work fine, but on Step 8 it never completes?
Which type of PowerWall is this? (Gateway1, Gateway2, or Powerwall+)?

Pretty sure it’s a gateway 1

I know this is a late response, but I had the exact situation and found a workaround. I have an orbi 3 node system and it wouldn't connect no matter what I did. I found that unplugging both satellites allowed the powerwall to connect instantly. After the connection was established, I plugged the other two in and no issues since. I hope this info is helpful to others so you guys can avoid hours of troubleshooting!

What router do you have?
What firmware is on it?
What modem/gateway is it connected to?
What device are you using for setup? If its an iOS device, make sure icloud relay and private mac/ip address are disabled.
Is your phone/tablet on 2.4ghz during setup?

It’s the original Orbi with latest firmware. I’m actually trying to connect to the Powerwall via the outdoor satellite.
I am using an iPhone. I’m guessing it’s a 5Ghz connection but not sure.

Make sure the iphone is connected to the 2.4ghz. I've seen this done by either turning down the 5ghz broadcast strength and moving a ways away to even adding in the "disable 5ghz ssid" broadcast (doesn't turn off the radio. Then disconnect, reconnect and see if you're connected to the 2.4ghz.
Also, make sure icloud relay and private mac/ip address are disabled. thats caused issues before too.
What modem/gateway is the orbi connected to?
