Two Orbi systems at two different locations

I recently purchased two RBK50 ORBI systems for installation in two different locations.  Before i installed the second system i went on line to see if there were any specific instructions and I found probems in the community back in 2018 that were apparently unresolved.  Has there been any resolution to the installation problem with two systems in two different locations, and if so, what installation insturction are available to follow?

  • By two different locations, i.e., different mesh networks, then it should work fine.  If it's for a single mesh network, just use one Orbi router as the master, which talks to the 4 satellites.  That's exactly what I'm going to do with my 2nd RBK53S.

There is something missing from the question.  A person can purchase x (any number) of Orbi systems and install them in x locations without issue.  They can even all have identical WiFi names, WiFi passwords, and administrative passwords.  If a WiFi device that has this WiFi name/password configured in it travels from one location to another, then it will automatically connect to each Orbi when it gets within range.  This is "normal."

BUT... what if the owner of all these Orbi systems wants "more"?  For example, wants to have all these Orbi systems registered to one Netgear account?  Wants to perform remote management on all of them (a) using the web interface (https), (b) using a VPN connection, or (c) using the Orbi "app"?  Wants to be able to connect to one Orbi and access a NAS system on a different Orbi?  Now THAT is more complicated indeed.

What is the "more" in your question?

Can you point us at these past messages?

Your description tells us nothing about what went wrong.

Problems often get solved, but if no no one flags them as such they are left hanging.
