Ok?
1) I had Orbi originally in Router mode and it still didn't connect, which is why I switched it to AP mode in the first place.
2) How do I switch it back to router mode, since orbilogin.com is not working now?

Fastest? probably just factory reset it and reinstall it.
one thing to keep in mind with the cm1100. it has 2 ethernet ports but the average user can only use 1 of them. Reason why is their either for port aggregation (rbr20 doesn't have) or for ISP's that allow multiple public ip addresses (most don't).
so during setup, power off both the cm1100 and the orbi, power on the modem first and give it several minutes. Then connect it to the router and power the router on.

Wait. What? Are you saying that my CM 1100 only has one port that is active? How do I get both ports connected to the internet? I need both ports on the CM 1100 working.

The cm1100 isn't a router. So nothing is handling dhcp. Which is why you can't just plug 2 devices into it and expect both to work. Most ISP's only assign 1 public IP address. its the same reason you can't just attach a switch to a modem and hook your devices to that.
to get both working you'd either need a router that supports wan port aggregation or an ISP that supports multiple public ip addresses. And like I said, most don't. Or require you to pay for a 2nd ip address or a business connection.
If you're needing more ports, you can attach them to the router or add a switch to the router.

Ok. I'll solve the port issue at a later time. If I can get the Orbi WiFi router up and running with the CM 1100, then we can connect mulpiple work laptops without having to have additional ports. Any suggestions on getting the Orbi Wifi going with the CM 1100?
