Upgrading from Google Fiber 1 gig to 2 gig

Have an RBR850 pair with Google Fiber 1gig.  Considering upgrade to 2 gig and they advise me it will not work with any router but their Google Mesh syestem and will not guarantee it will be the same ...

FURRYe38 is right on the forums.

But in terms of performance, The rbr85 series is going to stomp on any mesh system google has to offer in terms of performance. Will it max out a 2gig connection? no. But will it get closer than anything out there, yes.
