Hello, I know there are many aritcles on this subject but every single one of them leaves out something or does not provide specific "order of operations" so to speak so I am hoping someone can pr...

No. That tab is setting parameters for the router (in router mode).
Your own modem does not appear on their "supported modems" list?

No...my modem I own is an ARRIS Surfboard SB6190 - does not make the Midco cut.
BTW, I called Midco Tech and they seem to "think" that disabling that setting I mentioned above does put it into bridge mode?
Now I am confused? So am I back to going the AP route then. I trust actual owners more then I will a Midco tech.

True, the Surfboard SB6190 is a DOCSIS 3.0 modem, not the DOCSIS 3.1 that MidCo requires.
A modem on their "approved" list will cost from $80-$100 (renewed) to $130-$150 (new).
It is just humiliating to respond to a post before checking the User Manual (page 68)

The MidCo tech support may in fact know what they are talking about. It is easy to validate:
- If the Orbi is currently in router mode, then change that setting to Gateway OFF, reboot the modem, and reboot the Orbi. It should get the public IP address of the Hitron. "All is good" When the Hitron is not in router mode, it will not do anything.
No DHCP, no WiFi, no port forwarding, ... nothing. - If the Orbi is currently in Access Point (AP) mode, change the Hitron to Gateway Off, reboot, and reboot the Orbi and the Orbi should not get a DHCP address, not have internet, be "dead in the water."
It might be useful to check one of those "what is my IP address" web sites and write down what the public IP address is.
If there is a monthly charge on the ModCo bill for the cable modem, it is up to you whether you want to
- Continue to pay the monthly fee and have ModCo entirely responsible for the device, or
- Buy a compatible modem from Amazon, be responsible for replacing it if it breaks, and "break even" in a certain number of months.

Hey there!
Thank you for putting so much effort into a solution for me!
The answer the tech gave me yesterday was right...but wrong!!!! LOL - Let me explain as I just now got off the phone with another Midco tech and I now have my answer.
With the Hitron Modem/Router all I need to do is turn off wireless on both channels and it automatically goes into bridge mode. That simple. So I asked the tech today why the tech yesterday gave me the "disable gateway" answer and he said that would be the case to permanently go into bridge mode when using Midco's own mesh system! He said he probably misunderstood that I had my own routers. So basically...all I have to do is turn off the wireless channels on the Hitron.....reset my Orbi's, then plug my main Orbi router into an open Lan port on the back of the Hitron, give my Orbi power and then login into it and set it up again. He also said name everything the same on the Orbi (My SSID and Password) and more likely then not most devices will have that information stored and connect automatically.
Hope this time the tech guy is right!!!!
Once again...so very nice of you for your time and looking into things for me. Cheers

Fortunately the results will be almost obvious:
- If the Orbi interface shows the public IP address matches "what is my IP", he was correct.
- If the Orbi interface shows the public IP address to be one of the private IP addresses*, he is full of (xxxxx).
Private IP addresses: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network The most common used by Internet Service Providers are 192.168.0.x and 192.168.1.x
- If the Orbi is currently in router mode, then change that setting to Gateway OFF, reboot the modem, and reboot the Orbi. It should get the public IP address of the Hitron. "All is good" When the Hitron is not in router mode, it will not do anything.
