VPN & Remote Desktop connection issues

Hello.  I recently swicthed internet providers from WOW to Spectrum.  In doing so, I had to switch my router from the WOW provided eero pro 6 back to ORBI RBR40.  After switching back, I could connect to my employers VPN but not to the remote desktop.  I updated the firmware today and now I can no longer connect to the VPN - wired or wirelessly.  I did try accessing both by connecting directly to the modem and that worked fine.  Since I can do that, I am assuming the issue is on the Orbi side.  Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?  Please note that I am far from an IT guy and any help would have to be dumbed down to elementary school level.  I do know how to access the router and look at the settings - but I am not really sure what I am looking at.
