Why should I buy from Netgear?
Tech novice here. I have a 10,000 sq. ft. home with front and back patios where I would like to use wifi. I did some research online, and although more than I wanted to spend, it looks like Orbi mi...

10,000sq ft is a lot of area to cover. plus outdoors area. I'd look at business solutions. there's the orbi pro setup or you could go with something like ubiquiti. Potentially you could do the Orbi AX solutions but we're still waiting on add in satellites to come out and its quite a bit more expensive.
I've used the orbi and love how well it works. But you could put 3 of my houses in yours.

many of the systems list how many devices with "up to" coverage area. thats if everything works out perfect. It never does in homes so its better to overshoot how many devices you need. Nice thing about the orbi pro is that the Orbi outdoor satellite works with the pro setup as well.
the deal with support is that most companies off free 90 days of support. This gives enough time to get systems setup and functioning properly. After that, most all consumer companies charge sometime type of fee as they aren't "your" IT department. They'll warranty and replace but most have community forums like this where people go for free help.
If you googled for Netgear support and got a # to call, its probably a scam site. To get netgears support number you have to have a product. You register an account and then your device. From there you can contact support.

I agree with plemans 10,000 sq. ft plus outdoors is "BIG". This may call for professional design and equipment.
To add to the complexity, this is an awkward time to be spending a lot on a WiFi network.
- Gigabit and fiber rollouts are proceeding at a rapid pace. A network that "tops out" may prove inadequate in a short time.
- WiFi 6 was just ratified in Sept 2019, and manufacturers are rushing out products. Phones, laptops, WiFi routers. It seems like every week there are more announcements. So, even though most of us have zero products that can even connect to WiFi 6, do I want to spend a lot of money installing WiFi and find out next year that my new phone and new laptop have features that my WiFi network cannot support?
- And, of course, all this new WiFi 6 stuff is on the "bleeding edge". User forums are full of comments about "this sucks". As plemans mentioned, Netgear's new Orbi comes only in a package of one router and one satellite. No one knows when there will be more WiFi 6 Orbi products (like an outdoor satellite). Other manufacturers are in the same situation.
My advice is to be prepared to string a lot of ethernet cable.
