Wifi Speed is related to ISP speed?

Hi all,

I have just bought the rbk23 kit and I have to say that works great.

My ISP provide me an ideal speed of 140 Mbit and if connected to the router RBR20 I reacha  speedtest of 131 Mbit, while conencted to the farest satellite I reach 80 Mbit (just the double of my old config with powerline devices). Nothing to say , it does its job.

Now I am wondering if when my ISP will update the speed to the 1 Gbit , does the speed with the farest satellite increase as well? I am wondering if the internal firware of the RBR20 will adapt the transfer based on the ideal speed provided by the ISP? Or I can have even a 10 Gbit from my ISP but the transfer from the farest satellite and the router will keep to run at 80 Mbit/sec ?

Thank you

  • it depends on why its only running at 80mbps.

If its a distance/interference issue, then its probably at max.

Reason why is it should support a 866mbps link between router---satellites. With a good connection, 200-300mbps without much issues.

so you might have them spread out to much or have a interference issue.

so you can try moving the satellites around a little or even adding a satellite if needed.

Make sure the primary router is centrally located for best performance.

How big is your home and what materials are the interior walls made of?
