Are you testing with a ethernet connected PC with the Orbi. Don't use wireless. Wireless speeds on client side hw varies and some device don't support 900+- speeds. You'll need to check with the devices Mfr to see what actual thruput speeds they support. Most mobile devices don't support much over 400-500Mb.
What FW are you using on the Orbi?

Mfr=Manufacturer
Does the Mac have ethernet support? if it does, try testing with that. Most wifi on Mac or mobile devices won't see those higher speeds.

Hello-
My mac does not have an ethernet port unfortunately. Is there anyway I can change the band width to 5ghz only? Also, thank you for the clear explanation about IOS.

Does the Mac Book show being connected on 2.4 or 5Ghz. I believe if you hold down on the Option key on the keyboard then select the wifi icon on the top tool bar, this will show you which freqency your connected too.
Orbi is set up to autmatically connect devices to the best frequency automatically. Orbi doesn't allow for using of separate SSIDs between the radios. This would effect how the mesh system works.
