Wired back haul better?
I have a Orbi RBR40 setup that replaced a Nighthawk router a while back, the WiFi is much better across our bungalow but we have been getting dropouts and I think it’s the satellite dropping - should...

Sorry for the late reply, death in the family made this a low priority issue!
What FW is currently loaded?
2.2.1.210
What is the Mfr and model# of the IP modem the Orbi is connected too?
Virgin media superhub 2
What is the Mfr and model# of the ethernet switch if one is in the configuration.
Netgear GS295-100UKS 5 Port switch.
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
Not very big, 3 bed bungalow but no idea on square footage, will look for sales sheet!
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials.
I would say 25 - 30 foot
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Auto and 36
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Not able to check, have an app on laptop but nothing on iPad and the laptop isn’t working at the mo :(
I have since I posted this (today infact) hard wired the satellite to base Orbi as I have been getting the familiar drop out between the satellite and base orbi - seeing the orange and blue glow too often!

You might set the satellite to a bit more than 30 feet. Could be causing some problems, even wired back haul.
Please confirm the model # of the swtich being used. Doesn't seem to come up in searches.
How was the update applied? Auto update or manually installed?
If you updated to recent FW v.210, try enabling Daisy Chain. Some have mentioned that this seems to be working in reverse order, enabling means disabled actually. Hoping NG support can have a look at this. So try this out as well.

First try putting a check mark in Daisy Chain, save settings and reboot the router and satellite and see how it goes.
Hmmm not sure about ethernet thru two Sono's devices. :smileyfrustrated: Anything could be happening here...
I would try to connect the satellite more directly to the router or thru the ethernet switch if you see problems with the satellite...

I’ve only had problems with the wireless backhaul causing drop outs, I’m hoping going wired will sort that!
The Sonos connections are fine, just a slow hub - I could probably not use them now tbh as the setup was without the switch for a while on older routers with more ports!
What does the daisy chain option supposedly do when working?
