Wired connections not able to connect to internet

I had an Asus wi-fi router with 4 ethernet ports...

What FW is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ethernet switch if one is in the configuration.
If the wired device works fine directly connected to the back of the router or satellite and then connecting it to the switch fails. then it's either a bad cable between the switch and Orib or the switch is faulty. Try a different switch.

Orbi RBR50 (is brand new), and I updated FW to V2.2.1.210.
Modem is Arris Surfboard TM822R
Ethernet switch is Linksys SD2008
The problem is a bit more than a device working directly connected, and not when going through a switch. When the failure occurs, I see one device that is directly connected to the Orbi also not able to access the internet.
In the original post, during the failure I saw:
- Netgear Alro connected to satellite (and showing up as a connected device, so I guess working).
- QNAP NAS box with static IP connected to Orbi router and working
- iMac connected to ethernet switch, not getting DHCP address and not accessing internet. Link was up, and DHCP discovers going out, but no response.
- Custom linux box with static IP connected to Orbi router, not able to access internet (and link was up).
I unplugged the ethernet switch and plugged the iMac into the Orbi, and both the iMac and the Linux box started working.
I moved the iMac back to the ethernet switch, and reconnected the ethernet switch to the Orbi. Power cycled the ethernet switch, and again, everything worked.
The point is that even a directly connected device, which had link up, and static IP, was unable to connect to the internet.
One other odd thing I see... In checking the logs, there are occasional DOS attacks (even when things are working). What is odd, is the IP is a LAN device (a printer and a Harmony hub for remote control of TV/etc):

Starnge, but not sure if any relation to the issue at hand.

So does the system and wired devices work if you remove this switch from the system?
This seems to be based off a old Cisco model switch which is 8 years old:
Its not listed in Linsys product line.
Possible this switch is out of day and not fullly compatible. I would try a newer generation non managed non green ethernet switch.
I have several switch on my system. Zero issues seen with Orbi.

I don't know if the system will work for an extended period of time with devices directly connected to the Orbi router and satellite, as I have 8 wired devices and need several of them operational. It's not practical to get hard-wired lines over to the satellite to try to get all essential devices connected.
I do know that prior to installing the Orbi, all the wired devices, using the ethernet switch worked fine. The switch is older, but is a 10/100/1000 Mbps switch. I can puchase a new switch (any recommendations?), although I'd really like to understand the root cause before pouring money into a solution. Right now, there is only one variable (the Orbi).
