4g router as modem for Asus AP

.Hello everyone,

I’m a network newbie and I’m  trying to figure out a problem with my non-standard Internet connection. The best option for my Internet provision is via a 4G connection.

For this I’m using the netgear LB1111 modem router but I only need this as a modem and I have it I want to use my much more powerful Asus AC 87u as an access point.

I have the Asus device set up as an access point but after configuration it tells me that the ISP’s DHCP is not working properly.

If I understand correctly  when the Asus router is in AP mode then the netgear device handles ip address allocation.

It seems to me that there is some sort of conflict in settings when I use the setup wizard.

What is the correct configuration to enable the two devices to work together?

Thanks

    Hi Jimbobly

    Welcome to NETGEAR Community!

Please access LB1111 setup page, go to Settings > Advanced > LAN. Make sure Operation Modes set to "Router" and DHCP Server is "Enabled". Once confirmed, connect Asus router to the LB1111. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to an Ethernet port on your router and attach the other end of the cable to the Gigabit Ethernet LAN port of the LB1111.

    Regards,
