I had the same problem but have figured it out. The battery does not charge when it gets too hot. It must cool down first. What I do is wrap it in a paper towel and put it in the freezer for 2-3 minutes and it immediately starts charging again. I suppose that a cooling mat would work as well, but this has worked for me over 10 times so I assume the problem is the battery overheating.
