AirCard 810 (with DC112A cradle) as a wifi repeater

  • Hello community. My first entry here. The answer to my question may simply be a matter of shifting terminology. Probably "Wifi Offload". Then please refer me to the instructions in the manual.  :-)
  • In short:
  • How do I set up my unlocked AirCard 810 to connect to the Internet through wifi (provided by another device) rather than through a mobile network?
  • Elaborating:
  • I am cutting the cable, but I want to keep using my AirPort Time Capsule as the access point of my home network. (Apple users will understand.)  ;-)
  • I want to unplug the Ethernet cable from my outgoing cable modem, then plug it into my DC112A smart cradle. No problem expected there.  :-)
  • However, the "pricey" subscription of the SIM card associated with my AirCard 810 won't be renewed as "cheap" for some months, while the data plan associated with my mobile phone is about to change that way. So I intend to include that phone in my data chain for some months.
  • No problem setting that up as a personal hotspot, but how to have my AirCard use it?
  • Thank you for even reading all this.  :-)

    Hello Chrislaarman

You need a sim card with active service to use the air card.  I do not know the best way you can provide service with just the hotspot off your phone.
