Any known issues with the new MR6150 or the MR6550?

Does anyone know of any of the same issues (Overheating, dropping service, no firmware updates) with the Netgear branded line of Hotspots? The MR6550 is out of my price range, but the MR6150 may be doable.
How is firmware updates being handled with these Netgear branded devices? I know that the AT&T version MR6500 had to be on the AT&T network to get an update, but since these are designed to be unlocked to any one network, who would be providing the updates for these devices? Provider? Netgear?
The upgrades will be released by Netgear. The next upgrade is coming soon to support the Verizon certification so that the device can be used with Verizon BYOD plans.
Thanks

Thank you for your response. Assuming that this is true for both the MR6550 and the MR6150 models as they are both branded through Netgear.
I've pretty much given up on the MR6500 as this isn't a true T-Mobile compatible device since it doesn't support all of the frequency bands even in unlocked mode. I'm also very concerned about its stability issues and the lack of being able to update firmware without an AT&T active account. I'm hoping that the MR6150 is more stable than the MR6500 but waiting to see how reviews come in before I make the plunge. Spending this kind of money on a questionable product just doesn't make sense to me. Really wish Netgear would get a handle on the issues before you loose reputation.

Still looking to see if any of the MR6150 or MR6550's are having issues? Really focused on the MR6150 as the extra features of the MR6550 aren't needed in my case.

Not aware Netgear has ever announced or promoted the MR6500 for using on a different network from what AT&T providing. Unlocking does not magically make it fully workable on the T-Mobile (US) network at all.
Whatever some questionable sources have done, including unlocking e.g. AT&T MR6500 or variants (as published here) sold to different mobile carriers or into other regions/markets (like for Telstra), does very unlikely make if freely network changeable. What these unlocked devices allow is to use other AT&T SIM, or using SIMs for another carrier using the same AT&T network.
Complain to who ever sold you these unlocked device under wrong promises.

I see that you don't understand the topic of this conversation. I'm asking if the factory unlocked versions of the M6 have many of the same issues as the MR6500 model. LOCKED or UNLOCKED. The MR6500 is experiencing a huge number of firmware and design related issues and that's what I'm trying to avoid. Not complaining to anyone other than Netgear for producing these devices without proper vetting.
