Be sure you are using the named Netgear Mobile app for connecting to the MR. You can't use the Nighthawk app.
If you can't get the Mobile app to take the admin password, might try factory resetting the MR and having your iPhone connect to it's default IP address and wifi SSID name, then walk thru the setup wizard using the Mobile app and complete the setup process.
Also, Be sure to disable any MAC Address randomizers on phones and pads while at home:

I have the same issue with my Netgear Mobile app. I followed the steps outlined here for my iPhone 15. I can't even enter the entire password before the login screen resets itself.
The answer would be for Netgear to test their software, fix the bugs and act to support their customers
