Are Japanese SIM cards compatible with the MR5200 or the MR1100?
I will be in Japan for 6 months. Need a reliable mobile hotspot. Thanks for the help.

Either MR5200 or MR1100 does not have Japan model so far, here is the bands supported for Japan carrier, you might want to get one Japan model, for example AC797-100JPS (https://amzn.asia/d/1nwqmlQ) when traveling there.
