AT$T provided Netgear M6500 question.
AT$T has saddled my company with a Netgear M6500 as our "Broadband" internet connection. The nearest cell tower to us is almost a mile away. I have it set as dual band because the Netgear 6100 Genie...

Fired the 6100. My current wifi is the Netgear A6210.
Yes there is a desktop connected by ethernet to the M6500. Yes, the M6500 is always on and on Performance.
You didn't ask but yes, I pulled the battery off the 6500 as it wouldn't shut the hell up about it overheating..
While my connection has improved vastly (The 6210 is USB 3.0), I keep getting knocked off, reconnected and knocked off again.
I'm sure that our location dictated AT$T saddling us with the M6500 as it's cheaper than them running broadband cable down our street and we're paying them for the device over the next 4 years.
Still, we're more than a half mile away from the nearest cell tower and that cell tower has 2 large truck stops that are much closer than we are.
Thanks for the help.

Does the hardwired desktop drop?
Or just the wireless a6200/a6210?
I'll be honest. We see a ton of complaints on here from netgears usb adapters. Not sure if its something with the driver, with windows, or what but there's a ton of complaints on here about them.
Does any of the phones connected to the hotspot have issues.

Yes, the ethernet connection drops as well but not nearly at the same rate and the wifi connection.
No one has complained to me about the phone connection.
I wonder though, if the the Netgear wifi dongles aren't any good, where should I go to find a good one?

If the wired devices is dropping at times then you're a little caught. Is it the hotspot or is it the service. Thats harder to prove/figure out. You could always take it to a different location and connect something wired and wireless and see if it drops. that might help determine if its a service issue.
