ATT&T MR5100 > Firmware

I bought a MR5100 from Maple WIFI (https://www.maplewifi.com/). It arrived with the AT&T logo on it in a bag, no box, no papers. SIM card was already installed.

I have left Maple WIFI only to find they load their own firmware on the unit. I am unable to connect to it using the Netgear App, I can not update firmware through the devices window or by logging on to http://192.168.1.1 and the factory reset button by the battery does nothing.

Am I the proud owner of a brick or is there a solution out there for me?
