I know the new Nighthawk MR1100 will if you upgrade the charger to a QC2 or QC3 charger and use USBC. Sorry I don't know for the Fuse. I know my old hotspot from ZTE (and many others) will not operate without a battery.
Try and see. If it turns on, stays on, and continues to work underload (ex Fast.net, Okla, etc.) it should be fine. My ZTE would not even turn on if no battery was installled.
