Not sure this is my issue exactly, my unit just seems to "go to sleep". My wife starts work before me and she notices no internet connectivity is associated with an AMBER LED on the device, a light press of the power button and about 20 seconds later, the LED is Blue and internet restored......can NETGEAR please provide an always on or keep alive mode.

According to one of the Netgear moderators, there will be a new firmware release in Feb that will allow the Ethernet port to be set permanently on (no timeout as at present). Also the Ethernet port will be able to be switched on by default after a reboot, instead of off by default, as it is at the moment. See this post for more details: Nighthawk-M1-Ethernet-Port-Timeout

Just ordered a unit from Att call wireless internet. They refer to it as the Nighthawk and they also state it can be powered all the time. We will see when it arrives. I'm attaching a picture.

When the unit arrives, check the amperage printed on the mains charger. If it's a 2A charger, which is what Netgear have been supplying up to now, it's unlikely you will be able to use this to run the M1 (MR1100) without the battery installed. It will keep rebooting, generally when some sort of activity occurs. Here's what I did: Nighthawk-M1-Drops-Internet-Overnight-why

Thanks for the information. It's so frustrating when they tell you something false just to make a sale. Hopefully Imcsn get it working as they advertised.
