Can't Ping LM1200 4G/LTE Modem on Verizon Wireless Network

I just provisioned my LM1200 4G/LTE modem and for the most part it's working well.  Along with the LM1200, I purchased a static IP from Verizon.   However, I can't ping the static IP from the outside world.  The LM1200 has no menu setting to input the static IP but it shouldn't require one.  The entire purpose of the static IP was being able to access the LM1200 modem and the network its connected to from my mobile devices.  

Ideas anyone?  Thanks in advance.
