Connection about Nighthawk LAX20

Hi 

My router is placed in a container. The signal reception has been very poor recently, but I put the sim card back into the phone and used it without any problems. Is there a problem with the signal reception? I have added a receiving antenna but it has no effect !!!
Please give me some suggestions, thanks!
