DC112A Admin Console Locks Up

Hi Folks, I have a new AirCard Smart Cradle which I'm using with a AirCard 810S. Internet access is fine but withing 5 minutes of accessing the admin console it locks up. See screenshot, the only way to get out of this is to restart the cradle.

Am also having problems accessing the attached USB HDD, mainly as the console locks up when I'm trying to do anything with it.

Any suggestions?

  • So to add to this, by process of deduction it seems that plugging in the USB HDD is the cause of the lockup/freezeing problem.

Once I unplugged the HDD and restarted the Cradle it has worked fine without any issues.

But as soon as I plug in a HDD the Cradle will Freeze after approx' 5 minutes.

During this time I cannot access the HDD even though the Cradle is telling me it is attached as a shared drive.

    Any thoughts?

Lots of investigation leads me to ask: "Is there an OS update for the Cradle to SMB2 or higher? Why is this Netgear product still using SMB1 a know security flaw?"

        Hi simon2457,

Here is something to look into to see if your HHD is working correctly. I've also added the link below, Please let me know if this fixes the issue.

What kind of USB devices can I connect to the USB port?
The USB port on the cradle can only be used to connect USB storage devices like flash drives or hard drives, or a printer. The cradle works with most USB-compliant external flash and hard drives.
*NOTE: Some USB external hard drives and flash drives require you to load the drivers onto the computer before the computer can access the USB device. Such USB devices do not work with the cradle.
DO NOT connect computers, USB modems, CD drives, or DVD drives to the cradle USB port.
