I have exactly the same problem. Download the correct formware, device says update availabe and yet cannot find automatically. Try the manul aupdate method and I am told the file is incorrect. The file suffix is .chk.

Seems netgear doesn't care.
We are now up to 1.0.0.46 Hotfix and the SKU still isn't supported

Ditto Shannon333 comments - seems Netgear does not care about the Australian SKU of the DC112A - Netgear have released a number of releases where the AU model isn't supported currently stuck on Firmware Version V1.0.0.42_1.0.60. I'd love to see a resolution to this and move to close the known security flaws patched in Firmware Version 1.0.0.48.

I got a used DC112A-2RDMES (I'm in the US) and the latest update is 1.0.0.42, but I can't find the download file and the update in the GUI doesn't download the update. Is there anything that can be done to get the firmware update?

I don't know if you solved your problem but here's the firmware download page. Up to 64 now.

Qwackers,
I know this was a long time ago but you finally gave me the answer to one of my problems as Netgear refused to talk to me as my warranty had run out. I too am stuck on 42 at least I now know why all my manual upgrades fail so thank you for that.
I was wondering if you may have an explanation to this problem? I have 2 Air Cradles. The reason I bought a 2nd was because I thought the 1st was faulty. (I also have 4 x Aircard 810s Telstra 4gx III) What happened was all of a sudden my laptop said no internet, I looked at the Aircard & it had a circle with a bar through it, no reception, yet when I pulled it out of the cradle it got reception. Plug it back it, no internet again. I found that it would work, sometimes, it I hooked it up to the USB port. So I bought another & all was fine for a while then the 2nd did the same. Both at some stage updated to the above firmware & that's the only thing I can think that has cause the trouble. I even tried reverting to the original firmware but it comes up with are sure you want to install an older file etc. & the only option is no. I have done numerous factory resets on both & obviously tried all 4 aircards in both cradles. The reason I want the cradle/s to work is I have heaps of old router modems that I want to hook up as network extenders & to my knowledge for this to work they must me connected to a LAN/WAN port not through wifi. I know there are wifi extenders out there but I already have all this equipment so why not use it.
I am no computer expert, just enough to get myself into trouble. I can build/repair/network desktops/laptop but when it comes to network protocols etc. most of that goes over my head.
I hope you can help me? I would be very grateful as this problem began nearly a decade ago, I think, I simply connected the aerial directly to the Aircar & put it in the roof & have used it/them like that ever since.
Cheers mate. - Viper-666Sep 13, 2025Aspirant
Sorry one last thing. Using another modem/router I hooked it up to the WAN port on the Air Cradle & told the Cradle it was WAN only & it all worked so I again tried to update the firmware just in case Netgear had provided one for Oz & I got the same message when I had the Aircard in via the USB which was says Attempting to connect to Netgear server then after about 20 seconds it says No Internet Connection even though there definitely is.
Cheers again- QwackersSep 13, 2025Initiate
