dc112a (zain) won't connect to internet through hotspot

I bought a netgear smart cradle (dc112a 'zain') off of ebay and plugged my Sprint netgear zing (771S) into it. I can connect to the router through my mac, but in the browser admin / 'genie' interface, it shows an IP address of 0.0.0.0, and 'internet not connected' in the home screen. Do I need to contact Sprint and have them modify my sim card settings, or is there something else I'm missing? Thanks for your help.
