Does M1 Mobile Router play well with RAX120
Router RAX120
Internet Provider ATT 4G LTE mobile broadband through a M1 AT&T Nighthawk MiFi (there is no wired/fiber internet available in my area, this is my only choice for internet, with no draw backs other than range, until installing the rax120)
I just bought the rax120 due to moving to a new 2600ft home. I have noticed major inconsistency in web browsing and streaming quality.
Example, Instagram will load when opened/prompted but when you scroll to new unseen posts /photos it will just load and load and never display.
Movies Anywhere/Vudu have major issues as well, constant buffering.
BUT at the same time Hulu and Netflix and Youtube load/stream near flawlessly on my tv's??
My old 2010 model Netgear router performs flawlessly in Comparison??? Within range of the router of course.
I know that a MiFi connection has different securities that could interfere if the router doesn't play well, but with these both being Netgear and newer models I assumed they could communicate well?
Are there any settings I can tweak to make them communicate better?
I manually configured the M1 Nighthawk 4G hotspot to forward the internet connection from the small 30ftx30ft range of the MiFi to the router I have connected through Ethernet.
Do I need to reset to factory settings and the rax120 will auto configure optimal connections once connected though Ethernet? Can it do that? Ha :(
I'm so confused.

- Could there be an issue if they both have the same IP address? Which I think they do? (M1 Nighthawk to RAX120 connected with matching IP's)
Chan- To anyone who ever stumbles across this that needs it.
When using an M1 Nighthawk 4G router under Settings/Advanced settings/Other - you must check DMZ and enter a Static IP of your choosing
ie: 192.168.25.1
On your RAX120 or similar model Router :
ADVANCED/Advanced Setup/Static Routes - enter your customer entered Static IP that you just added on the M1's DMZ mode - ie: 192.168.25.1
Then on the RAX go to ADVANCED/Internet Setup/ scroll to the section " Internet IP Address" and check the box for "Use Static IP". Select Apply at the bottom of your screen and the RAX and M1 work flawlessly.
Failure to use a Static IP and keeping both their IPs the same causes major communication issues between units. The RAX is an amazing unit but is most definitely not the user friendly Plug and Go it should be with a price ranging from $350-$499 in cost. Just my 2 cents.
