Guest network not visible anymore on Nighthawk M6 Pro (MR6500) –+ dual band issue 2.4 GHz working
Hi everyone,
I’m using a Netgear Nighthawk M6 Pro (MR6500) and I’m facing two issues that have only appeared recently — everything was working fine before:
1. The guest Wi-Fi network is enabled in the admin interface and set to broadcast, but it’s now completely invisible on all devices (iOS, Android, PC).
• Security is set to WPA3 Personal AES (not editable).
• The SSID is simple, with no special characters.
• Broadcast is active (802.11 BGNAX), but the network doesn’t show up on any device, even after multiple reboots and config changes.
2. I’m using a dual band setup (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), but only the 2.4 GHz band works:
• No device connects to the 5 GHz band, even when it’s enabled.
• The 6 GHz band is also active, but none of my compatible Apple devices can see it anymore.
• All of this used to work perfectly, including the guest network.
Here’s what I’ve already done:
• Full factory reset
• Firmware update
• Tested different SSIDs, with and without passwords
• Temporarily disabled the 6 GHz band
Still, the issues persist. I’m wondering if this is:
• A bug in the current firmware,
• A compatibility issue introduced recently,
• Or a hardware-related problem.
Has anyone experienced something similar or found a fix?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Nico
