How do I get DATA USAGE INFO when not using the Telstra network.

I have purchased an unlocked Nighthawk M5 (MR5100) which I am using on the Aldi (Telstra Wholesale) network. It seems that the device is trying to fetch usage data from Telstra and since I don't have a Telstra account it is showing " DATA USAGE INFO UNAVAILABLE AT THIS TIME"  Is there any way to get the firmware updated so that a simple data counter can be added. My previous device https://www.tp-link.com/au/home-networking/mifi/m7450/ had a very basic usage meter that worked perfectly. Put in your data allowance and a reset date and simple graph was displayed. The device was a 1/5th of the cost but the UI was great. Come on Netgear. It is not that hard to add a simple counter to the firmware.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

    Mobile Routers, Hotspots & Modems

Those things are very different from the standard Netgear routers covered in this section.

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

In the meantime you could visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware. Look at the label on the device for the model number.

    Check for various troubleshooting tips.

You may have done this already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear stopped supplying printed manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.
