How do I switch to external antenna
I have a 778S and can get just 1 bar where I am so I bought an external antenna. It's got > 10 dBi of gain so it should provide quite a boost to my weak signal. But it doesn't make any difference at all. I'm guessing it's still using the internal patch antenna even when the external is plugged in. Is there a software switch to force the 778s to use the external antenna ports? If so, how do I get to it?

When an external antenna is plugged into the mobile hotspot the firmware will automatically disable the internal antennas. There is no switch to force disabling of internal antennas. If you get weak signal anywhere you travel to even if your phone is getting good signal then it could be an issue with your device. I would recommend getting in contact with wherever you purchased the device to get repaired.
