I have an mr1100 australian version and would like to install the USA firmware on it. Can I do it?
Is it possible to install USA firmware on an Australian mr1100 hotspot device? If so, could somebody please tell me how this may be done?

NETGEAR has several different SKUs of the Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router products and each product has a specific set of bands that is supports based on the region that it is purchased in. It has specific firmware which are optimized for their respective ISP. You cannot upgrade a MR1100 Australia SKU with MR1100 NA firmware.
