I have hooked up my netgear and it is connected but it says I have no internet

Basically its saying that your device (phone/tablet/pc) is connected but the route isn't connected to the modem. What modem are you using?

One thing to try is reset both devices and after they're reset, shut off both devices (modem and router)

Boot up the modem with nothing connected. Give it a couple minutes.

Then plug the ethernet from modem into wan from router.

Then boot up router. Give it a coupe minutes to fully boot.

Then go through your configuration.
