Just got Netgear Knight Hawk MR1100. Looking to build a network and need help PLEASE...

Hi, I just got my Router through AT&T and I am wanting to setup a Home Network, but I don't have the first clue on what I need to set it up. Plus I am having issues with this router not getting signal through my house.

Brief Description of my house:

Its 2200sq ft. It's a manufactured home but its all stick built but I do have steel beams in my basement. My house is 75ft long (which I can't get signal throughout house) I also have a Workshop (approx. 25 feet from house) that I would like to hook-up. I don't have a problem running ethernet cables (I have everything to make my own lines) Basically what I am looking to hook-up is 2- Computers (oppisite ends of house), 2- Printers, 4- TV's, Tablets, And down the road doorbell cams and driveway cams.

I'd appreciate any help on what equiptment I will need and the best way to set it all up.

Thanks in advanced... John

The MR1100|Nighthawk M1 is a Mobile Router. It is probably too small to cover a large property with wifi.

If you can only get your Internet through a mobile operator – most people use a cable operator or sometimes a DSL service –  it is the sort of thijng that people use as a front end for a more powerful router.

That is why you will see several conversations here about how to use the MR1100 with other routers.

Manuals are always a good place to start.

    Visit the support pages:

    Support | NETGEAR

Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

Begin with the Quick Start/Installation Guide.

There may also be some helpful videos on what to do.

You may have done that already. I can't tell from your message.

I mention it because Netgear gave up on supplying paper manuals and CD versions some years ago and people sometimes miss the downloads.

Thanks for the info. Where I live we don't get Cable or DSL. Out here our only choice is mobile or satilite. And I have had a few different Satilite companies and was not happy with any of them, so I decided to give Mobile a try. I have tried to look up way to get my signal through my house and It tells me to hook my modem to a router and have 2 routers at each end of my house. So basically I wanting to know What people would recomend that I should get so i'm not buying junk. I've looked on Netgears site and I can't make heads or tails on what anything is. (I'm not to savy on when it comes to hardware.) And like I said before i'm fine with running hardwire to achieve the best signal i can get. I just need to figure out what will work best for my situation.
