LB1120 SIM clip
Hi,
I have a Netgear LB1120 Modem.
I have had to replace the SIM card several times and just noticed that the small metal clip that locks the SIM card in place has become dislodged from its pivot points / hinge pins.
Will this have a serious affect on my ability to properly install a new SIM card or cause the modem to not work properly?
TIA
Jim Palmer

jkpalmer52 That SIM lock hold the SIM card in the correct location to allow the electrical connections to line up between the card and the modem. The SIM lock (holder) also applys pressure on the SIM card to hold it against the electrical connections. Damage to the SIM lock would likely prevent the LB1120 from properly connecting and reading the SIM card.

Thanks for the response.
I'm trying to determine if I need to purchase a new LB1120.
The clip's responsibility is to hold the SIM card in place with the proper pressure and DOES NOT have any role in the electrical sensing of the SIM card, correct?
The clip is holding the SIM card in place and the following is observed or understood:
- My power indicator is solid amber, indicating that the card is installed correctly but is not connecting properly to the internet.
- If the SIM card is incorrectly installed, the power indicator should be blinking amber, correct?

I have the same problem. This is a terrible design. This one little metal clip makes the device useless.
