LB1121 - No connectivity

I have an LB1121 modem with a the sim from my phone I'm trying to get to work before I get a dedicate sim and service for it. My service is Metro PCS or Metro T-Mobile I guess. I've entered the APN from my phone as well as several recommendations I've found on the internet but none seem to work. I get no connection. From this and other forums it sounds like I need a sim set up for a tablet but I want to comfirm that my phone sim wont connect at all and that is the problem, not the modem or the cell service.

    Please check this link to check the cellular bands supported by LB1121. This is to ensure that the product you purchase is the correct product for your region and that the bands it supports are supported by your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

      I did and it does support the bands my carrier uses.

        Any other suggestions? Should the sim card i'm using work at least enough to connect?
