LB2120 DDNS client

Still haven't figured it out.
I'm on Verizon with a Actiontec MI424WR Rev. 1 Modem
There is one WAN port
But my limited knowledge is keeping from figuring this all out.
Many of my devices are crashing through the LB2120 and into the Verizon Modem.
Others devices are not.
I don't really understand why some work and others don't and what to do about it.
It has both a WAN CoAx and WAN Ethernet connection.
Is that "two WAN ports"?
Do I connect the LB2120 to the Ethernet WAN port and my Intranet devices to the LAN Ethernet ports?
Or to the LB2120 ports?
If so, how do I reach devices on my Intranet and how do things inside the Intrnet connect to devices on the WAN Internet?
I'm sure someone is shaking their head at my stupidity. Just trying to understand.

My applogogies regarding the last post; I thought we were still talking about DDNS.
My router can be configured with 2 WAN ports (you will need to find ADVANCED settins). I needed to estalbish the "fail over" operation (e.g. this is how the router determines if the primary internet has gone down). My cable modem is connected to the WAN and is the primary means by which the router/gateway connects to the internet. I connect the other WAN port on my router/gateway to the LAN port of the LB2120 (see the description in the LB2120 manual). When I disconnect my cable modem from my router/gateway to test the operation, the router/gateway will "fail over" to the cellular network. This takes a couple of minutes AND the performance is greatly reduced, as expected. When I reconnect the cable modem, my router/gateway does switch back from cellular data to HSI data.
My observations: all VPN connections are dropped and even some browser sites need to be refreshed. The "fail over" is NOT seemless.
