LB2120

I have an LB2120 4G modem which sits in the air in a waterproof box and is fed by a long PoE cable.  It is connected to a Netgear ethernet switch which in turn is connected to other switches and devices.  The problem is switch failure.  I have had about eight switches fail in the last six months.  Ther modem is working well, it is only the switches which fail.  I was told it could be power surge but all devices are connected to surge protectors which fave not tripped.  Could I have a faulty modem?

Could you please advise which switch failed in the last few month? Was that one connecting to LB2120 and providing power to it?

    Thanks

It is usually but not always the first switch connected in the chain.  It is not providing the power.  That comes from a separate psu and PoE injector immediately after the switch (or technically before if you see what i mean!). I have had six switches die completely and I would guess that four of them have been in this position.  I was advised yesterday that PoE can give issues and that it could be the injectors failing so I changed both the one next to the switch and the one at the top of the mast.  I await the result.
