Loss of 4G on MR1100-100EUS on STC Network Saudi Arabia

I have a MR1100-100EUS mobile router running on STC network which was working perfectly fine for about 2 months then last week it just wouldn't connect to 4G. It will connect to 3G in a good coverage area, but the connection is slow and fails intermittently.

There have been no changes that I'm aware of. STC network account ok and SIM works perfectly fine (and gets 4G) in another TP-Link mobile router, but not in my Netgear!! Also, my mobile phone (which uses same account as my data SIM) gets 4G in the same location I'm using the MR1100, no problems.

The APN seems ok (jawalnet.com.sa). 

(I'm running the NTG9X50C_12.06.39.00 firmware. I did try downgrading the fw to the latest per Netgear support webpage (12.06.11.00) but this failed with an error 16.)

 

Can anyone help?
