M1 No DDNS - -Any hotspot routers that will allow remote access via internet ?
I made a dumb mistake and bought an M1 thinking I could use it to remote monitor a power system and cameras aboard an RV - unfortunately, for $300 - netgear did something stupid and did not include DDNS like even the CHEAPEST home routers include.
Do they realize hotspots are VERY popular for remote monitoring of things and that usually means they need DDNS ??
Ok, so there is port forwarding, but it does not work well with DHCP, so what are my options ? Is there another router / hotspot that is powered by USB / low current that will allow DDNS ?
I can see on this forum that customers have been begging for DDNS support on this router for years and it has gone totally unanswered. That is typical.
I need to be able to reach this remote network via the internet and look at a security camera and a battery monitoring system - both of these products require DHCP and do not allow fixed IPs. If anyone knows how I can make that work on the M1 - awesome - if not - back it goes to Amazon. I feel like I just bought a luxury car with a lawnmower engine installed in it.
